The Challenge: Genetic erosion of traditional crop varieties and vulnerable community seed security in sensitive ecosystems.

Dr. Joshi’s Role: Serving as Area Director, leading a team of 50+ staff to establish community-managed seed banks, conserve landraces, and build ecosystem-based adaptation models.

Systemic Outcome: Enhanced climate resilience for smallholder farming families, preservation of endangered agro-species, and integration of seed hubs into regional development schemes.

Focus Area: Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) & Livelihood Systems

The Challenge: Building scalable, climate-resilient community infrastructure in ecologically vulnerable landscapes across East Africa and South Asia.

Dr. Joshi’s Role: Led program strategy, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL), and evidence-based adaptive management across multi-stakeholder initiatives.

Systemic Outcome: Created frameworks that informed national policy models—including inputs relevant to India's Jal Jeevan Mission—and embedded institutional learning cultures across large teams.

• Focus Area: Avian Biology, Ecosystem Monitoring & Habitat Protection

• The Challenge: Tracking avian population dynamics and habitat degradation in threatened coastal and island ecosystems.

• Dr. Joshi’s Role: Conducted extensive field surveys, species inventory mapping, and ecological assessment studies.

• Systemic Outcome: Authored peer-reviewed papers that established baseline data for conservation strategies and informed regional environmental protection guidelines.
